About This Course:

Participants will learn the importance of a respectful workplace, and how to build a culture that facilitates collaboration, inclusiveness and diversity. Leaders and managers will learn how to be effective champions and role-models.

  • How a workplace changes when everyone feels important and respected
  • The impact on employees when the playing field isn’t level
Conscious and subconscious bias - what it is and what it isn't
  •  Examining the nature of human bias, and how specific biases create toxic environments
  • Examples of conscious and unconscious bias
How to recognize bias in the workplace and address it effectively
  • Identifying existing embedded biases in systems and practices, and strategy frameworks for addressing them
  • Identifying toxic behaviors and how to address them
Dealing with pushback and unproductive mindsets
  • Responding to overt and passive-aggressive push-back to behaviour change
  • When and how to escalate situations involving diversity and inclusion
How to champion diverse and inclusive culture in every situation
  • How to effectively role-model and champion equity and inclusion
  • Common mistakes leaders make and how to avoid them
